Concept design for central retail zone in concourse B at Frankfurt Airport
In the future, the existing two security zones in concourse B will be relocated and centralized right behind check-in.
As a result, the current “landside” retail zone – before security will become a new central “airside” marketplace – behind security.
This will certainly positively affect the passengers. Experience has shown that passengers who have already passed the security check are much more relaxed. This will calm down the area and increase revenues. A new Travel Value Shop with approx. 1.200m2 is in the new heart of this marketplace. Further retail and food & beverage units will complete the offer.
The concept provides an easy orientation to different gate zones A, B and C and offers a high quality of space ensuring an exceptional passenger experience.
The furniture is made of natural materials such as wood and natural stone in a correspondingly sustainable design. Large, real trees and plants bring a bit more nature into the interior of the terminal and contribute to a better quality of stay for the passenger.
