NANTES NEW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Privatisation bid by a SNC Lavalin-led consortium on Nantes airports. The airport will be designed to handle up to nine million passengers a year. Phase one of the new airport construction will see a capacity of four million passengers a year. Phase 2 will accommodate up to nine million passengers and will be implemented in sub phased construction until 2050. The current Nantes-Atlantique airport can only handle three million passengers a year and cannot be expanded because it is too close to the city (only 8km from the city centre). The scope of work included terminal concept design and masterplanning for a new greenfield airport of 4mppa in phase 1 and 9mppa in an ultimate phase.
